On the evening of June 17, Istanbul Modern, in collaboration with Musicandle Concerts, will host the “Musicandle at the Museum” event, bringing classical music together with a candlelit atmosphere on the museum’s terrace overlooking the Bosphorus. Before the concert, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the Istanbul Modern and the “Semiha Berksoy: The Aria of All Colors” exhibition free of charge. During the open-air concert, classical music pieces will be performed alongside selections by Turkish composers, tangos, and film scores. “Welcome to Summer with a Spanish Night,” an event that blends the Mediterranean atmosphere with music, cuisine, and sunset views, kicks off the summer season on the terrace of Ceres Restaurant to the sound of live Spanish music. Held in a cocktail-style setting, the event features a buffet selection of paella and tapas, combined with ocean views and live performances, bringing together flavor, music, and socializing on the same summer evening.

The Istanbul Caucasian Dance Ensemble – Caucasian Eagles brings the rich culture of the Caucasus to the stage with a cast of 70 dancers and 15 musicians, accompanied by dance and live music. Shaped by traditional costumes, powerful choreography, and a strong sense of rhythm, the performance offers an impressive theatrical experience that brings themes of courage, unity, and cultural memory to life within a contemporary stage setting.

Shaggy, the global superstar of R&B, soul, funk, and reggae, is set to take the stage at the INCORE Festival with a high-energy performance. With a setlist featuring hits like “Boombastic,” “Mr. Lover,” “Angel,” and “It Wasn’t Me,” the artist cranks up the energy, elevating the festival spirit to new heights with a stage flow that blends different genres. The visual design, bearing the Influx Core signature, combines retro and futuristic elements to create a multi-layered atmosphere for the night.

Legendary bass guitarist Marcus Miller will open the 33rd Istanbul Jazz Festival with the “WE WANT MILES!” project, created in honor of the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth. One of the most important figures in contemporary jazz, Miller will take the stage with a repertoire inspired by Miles Davis’s work from the 1980s; a lineup featuring powerhouse musicians such as Bill Evans, Mike Stern, Mino Cinelu, and Anwar Marshall will breathe new life into the master musician’s legacy with a modern interpretation.

“The Republic of Baklava,” which has garnered attention on international stages, offers a unique theatrical experience that blends absurd comedy with political satire to explore concepts of identity, belonging, and borders through humor. Beginning with the love story of a Turkish and a Greek young man, the narrative unfolds as the baklava shop they establish together gradually transforms into a micro-state, using this progression to ironically question nationalism, freedom, and the culture of coexistence. With its documentary-style narrative and powerful stage language, the production offers the audience an experience that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.

The musical “Jekyll & Hyde” brings the conflict between the dark and light sides of the human soul to the stage through the powerful performances of Hayko Cepkin and Pelin Akil. The story, which unfolds as Dr. Jekyll’s experiment to separate the balance between good and evil spirals out of control, depicts a deepening inner conflict with his alter ego, Mr. Hyde. Adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, the production offers audiences a highly suspenseful theatrical experience with its gothic atmosphere and intense dramatic language.

Adapted from Aylin Balboa’s work “This Story Is Longer Than You, Osman,” the play brings to the stage the inner reckoning that begins in the wake of a breakup. The story, which unfolds through letters written to Osman after the end of a long relationship, gradually shifts from a search for a response to an internal reckoning. Directed by Salih Usta, the production features a performance by Şenay Gürler that reveals the character’s emotional transformation in a simple yet compelling manner.

“Vampyr,” developed by Chilean director Manuela Infante using an experimental theatrical language, is a multi-layered theater production that explores the relationship between nature, energy, and humanity, and is now being presented to audiences in Turkey for the first time. Produced in collaboration with Beykoz Kundura, the production addresses concepts of exhaustion, production, and labor through the lens of a mock-documentary format and hybrid beings; by linking vampire mythology to current environmental and political debates, it offers the audience an unconventional theatrical experience.
